Many years ago, this strata had a handyman involved on a regular basis. Darcy helped solve many kinds of small maintenance issues that came up, and his weekly walkarounds were a huge benefit for the complex.
The Strata Council would like to explore that option once again. Council is looking for applications from people interested in this role.
The job consists of coming to the complex once every week or two and looking after a number of minor issues to help keep small things from becoming big things.
We’ve seen a variety of needs pop up in many areas. Doors sometimes need fixing. There are some patio screen doors off their guides. The low bollards all around the walkways have regular light bulbs that burn out. Things get misaligned or need touching up in various ways.
In addition, this person would be responsible for keeping the amenities building clean, as well as checking and replacing supplies in that room as needed.
They would be counted on to assist Council in identifying more urgent needs around the complex such as misaligned downspouts, balconies or stair landings that need attention and so on. Just having that person visible on a regular basis would give owners an opportunity to point out specific issues they’re facing, which could then be documented and reported in an organized way so that we could deal with them more effectively.
If you know someone who would be interested in this contract position, please have them get in touch with our Property Manager Sufiyan Sawry at sufiyan@c21pel.com
