Meet the newest strata council members

At last year’s Annual General Meeting, four council members were added to the two who were already on council.

Daphne Wong was one of them, but she resigned not long afterwards. Let’s meet the other three so that you know a little more about the people helping to look after the value of your investment.

George Pytlik Unit 34

George has lived at Windsor Garden since 2009. Married to Wendy for 42 years, George owns two businesses and serves on the board of a national non-profit association. He and his wife are also certified professional ballroom dancers who represented BC as provincial Latin champions for 7 consecutive years and placed 27th at the World Ten Dance Championships in the 30+ age category.

George’s passion is to improve communication between council and the owners, as this has been lacking for many years. The failure to communicate regularly (except for official documentation) has led to a “them vs us” conflict that is not serving the community. George feels that we should build a stronger sense of neighborhood, with owners getting to know one another and look out for each other. After all, with 117 units, we are larger than some small towns!

Alan Schianni Unit 84

Alan is a realtor and has lived in Windsor Garden for more than 10 years. He is currently serving as the Treasurer on the Strata Council and is passionate about ensuring that property values in the complex are optimized through proper governance. This includes not only making good decisions on behalf of owners, but ensuring that we avoid missteps in official reports that damage the reputation of the property.

Alan is thoughtful and brings a strong sense of carefully reasoned insight to his decisions. He is particularly good at taking a complex issue and boiling it down to its core essence to make it easy to understand. He communicates clearly and listens to the input of others, willing to reconsider his ideas when valid alternatives are presented.

Vasily Lisovskiy Unit 18

Vasily has lived in Windsor Garden for roughly four years. He is currently serving as Vice President and Building Maintenance Chair. He works in a civic governance capacity, giving him great insight into how government works, which is proving invaluable to council in dealing with the City of Richmond or the provincial government. He served on the strata council at his previous residence.

Vasily is soft spoken and carefully considers every decision before drawing conclusions and committing to an action. He listens to and values the input of others and considers all input before coming to a decision.
