Richmond has developed a beautiful new playground for McLean Neighborhood Park, conveniently located directly across the street from Windsor Garden.
There were numerous delays completing the work, and many residents wondered if it would be open before the end of summer, but it did open in time for the BC Day long weekend.
There are two separate sections, one focused on very young children and the other on older, more mobile kids. There are swings, various riding type activities, ropes, and more than one slide, one of them surprisingly large. A sawdust base minimizes any impact when they fall, and a rubber-coated surface along one end helps to ensure good grip in wet conditions. Click on any photo for a larger version.
